AASC Cares Spotlight: Sustainability and Sweet Traditions at Cheyenne Crest Apartments

Posted By: Maria Curtis AASC Cares,

At AASC, we are proud to celebrate the incredible community service efforts of our members through the AASC Cares initiative. Our members continuously find creative and meaningful ways to give back, making a lasting impact in their communities.

One standout example is Griffis Blessing Inc., where Vice President Carmen Azzopardi and the team at Cheyenne Crest Apartments have turned sustainability into a sweet tradition. For the past two years, they have maintained a thriving bee colony right on the property, partnering with local beekeepers to ensure a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach.

At Cheyenne Crest Apartments, the bees are more than just pollinators—they are part of the community. Each year, the team carefully harvests honey from the on-site hive, sharing this local, sustainably produced honey with residents. This unique initiative not only supports local ecosystems but also brings residents together, fostering a sense of connection and appreciation for nature.

Carmen shared that the honey harvest tradition has become a resident favorite, and the team is thrilled to continue it for another year. The highlight? The annual Honey Giveaway, where residents receive a jar of freshly harvested honey—a sweet reminder of the community’s commitment to sustainability and togetherness.

"We are incredibly proud of this special tradition and the opportunity it gives us to connect with nature, all while offering something truly unique to our residents. Our honey harvest is more than just about the sweet treat—it’s about fostering a sense of community, sustainability, and appreciation for the environment," Carmen explained.

At AASC, we love sharing stories like these that showcase the positive impact our members make. If your company is involved in a community service project, we want to hear about it!
